When it comes to business, leadership, and innovation, Savannah Ryan is a name that stands out. From coaching young girls in Oxnard, CA, to working behind the scenes on Shark Tank, founding a successful marketing agency, and now leading major corporate finance initiatives—her journey is nothing short of inspiring.
We sat down with Savannah to talk about her career, experiences, and advice for those looking to make an impact in their fields.
The Early Years: Coaching & Leadership
Savannah, let’s start with your early days. What experiences shaped you into the leader you are today?
Savannah: My first real leadership experience was at 15 when I became a cheer and dance coach for young girls in underserved communities in Oxnard, CA. It was an eye-opening experience. I wasn’t just teaching dance moves—I was helping build confidence, teamwork, and discipline. That role taught me the importance of communication, leadership, and patience, all of which have been critical throughout my career.
Behind the Scenes of Shark Tank
You worked behind the scenes on Shark Tank! That must have been an incredible experience. How did it influence your career?
Savannah: It was life changing In 2014, I worked as an Executive Assistant to the Sharks, and it gave me an inside look at how top entrepreneurs think and operate. One of the best pieces of advice I received was from Lori Greiner. She told me, "Never feel you don't deserve a seat at a table full of men; you are just as smart and capable." That stuck with me. It gave me the confidence to embrace my potential and step into leadership roles without hesitation.
Starting Story tale Marketing Co.
You launched Story tale Marketing in 2016. What motivated you to start your own agency?
Savannah: I’ve always had a passion for storytelling, branding, and marketing strategy. I wanted to help businesses build strong marketing foundations and create brands that truly resonate with their audiences. In the first year, we generated over $250K in revenue with 15% year-over-year growth. We worked with everyone—from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies—helping them craft powerful brand stories and scale their businesses.
Notable Projects & Impact
Can you share some exciting projects you’ve worked on?
Savannah: Absolutely! One of my favorite projects was working with Black light Surgical, which is revolutionizing breast cancer treatment with laser technology. I’ve also worked with Nanotech Energy, a company developing cutting-edge graphene-based batteries that could change the future of energy storage. Being able to support such game-changing innovations through branding and strategy has been incredibly rewarding.
Transitioning to Corporate Finance & Energy
You’re now the VP of Corporate Finance at Integra Capital. How did you make the leap from marketing to corporate finance?
Savannah: My work in branding and strategy naturally led me into investor relations and corporate finance. Now, I manage strategic communications, investor partnerships, and large-scale energy projects. I also work with global governments to address energy challenges, which is an exciting and impactful space to be in.
Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
You’ve been in leadership roles across different industries. What’s your biggest piece of advice for entrepreneurs, especially women?
Savannah: First, believe in your worth. You deserve a seat at the table. Don’t be afraid to take up space in male-dominated industries. Second, be adaptable—the business world changes fast, and those who embrace change thrive. And finally, build strong relationships—success is rarely a solo journey.
What’s Next for Savannah Ryan?
What’s on the horizon for you?
Savannah: I’m focused on continuing to support innovative energy initiatives while also championing women-led businesses through Wild Grace (the rebranded identity of Story tale Marketing). Our goal is to empower businesses to redefine their brands, scale effectively, and leverage technology for growth.
